SWARM
5 April 2013
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma presents: SWARM
While insects used to be the theme of many horror movies our image of them has changed, and they might actually be closer to us, because we assume that we have certain social and psychic patterns in common. Swarm theory and abstracts on collective behavior have become very popular in recent times, and maybe humans and insects are more related than we think?
SWARM – an interactive installation feat. collective performance, video art, 3D symbols and lecture by artist-in-residence Paul Wiersbinski (DE) on swarm theory and collective behavior. What can we learn from insects? What does the Internet have in common with bee hives? SWARM combines scientific theory and the visual arts into an unique interactive experience about collective mind and behavoir of insects in relation to certain collective forms of human behavior and structures.
Audience is an important co-player on this night where we try to reach higher levels of the collective consciousness for body and mind.
Swarm is theme for this First Fridays exhibition . It is based on the artist-in-residence Paul Wierbinski’s research connected to his project Schwawarma. Both the SWARM exhibition and Schwawarma is co-created by artistic collaborator Hanna Hildebrand.
