Atelier Hotel Pro Forma
International art lab across art forms
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma is an international art lab for young, upcoming artists and students to develop and show works created across art forms such as the visual arts, video, sound, architecture, light, text and performing arts.
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma runs two programmes:
Exhibitions, installations and performances
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma creates art works for galleries, museums, venues, festivals, and projects in public spaces, as well as the monthly exhibitions Lounge at the Atelier. Several former resident artists and interns now work with Hotel Pro Forma’s national and international productions.
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma is a former cigar factory converted into a 640 square meter open office, exhibition and performance space, including a workshop with a wide range of technical equipment, a library, a guest room and a dark-room for experimenting with light.
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma was initiated in 2011 by the international artistic production company Hotel Pro Forma, founded by artistic director Kirsten Dehlholm in 1985.
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma is designed to inspire, develop and grow the artistic organisation that Hotel Pro Forma is today through new interdisciplinary and experimental projects, new networks and new ways of sharing ideas, knowledge and expertise.
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma creates artworks of undeniable beauty and quality which provoke and inspire new realisations and ideas in our audiences and the involved artists and organisations.
The artworks are always interdisciplinary and investigative and are created through collaboration with a global outlook. The artists, people and organisations involved rethink and create exceptional works.
Atelier Hotel Pro Forma is designed to inspire, develop and grow the artistic organisation that Hotel Pro Forma is today.
The artistic director, Kirsten Dehlholm, oversees each project that is created at Atelier Hotel Pro Forma.
Concrete results include the creation of installations, concerts, performances for museums, venues and festivals, the development of new concepts for future projects, and monthly exhibitions at Atelier Hotel Pro Forma.
